About Flobstar
BEHIND EVERY HEADLINE IS A LIFE!
Who We Are
Flobstar is an independent digital health newsroom and public health communication platform, founded by health journalist and biochemistry researcher Oluwatimilehin Ayodeji John. We report on medical research, disease surveillance, clinical breakthroughs, health policy, and biotechnology for a global readership.
In an information landscape crowded with sensational headlines and impenetrable medical jargon, Flobstar exists to provide steady, verified health journalism. We serve patients seeking clarity about their conditions, families looking for trustworthy preventive guidance, healthcare professionals following emerging evidence, and citizens who want to understand how health policies affect their daily lives.
Our newsroom operates on a simple standard: medical news must be accurate enough for clinicians to respect, yet clear enough for anyone to understand. We do not manufacture hype, we do not promote unproven remedies, and we do not treat health crises as entertainment.

Trust
Every story is verified with evidence, grounded in science, and committed to accuracy. We hold ourselves to the highest standards of health journalism.

Clarity
Complex medical information explained in language everyone can understand. We bridge the gap between scientific expertise and public understanding.

Humanity
Behind every headline is a human life. We report with compassion, recognizing that health decisions affect real people, families, and communities.
Health journalism carries a direct civic responsibility. By uniting rigorous source verification with plain-language reporting, Flobstar delivers reliable health intelligence to readers around the world.
Our Story
Every day, millions of people turn to the internet searching for answers about their health. Some have just received a life-altering diagnosis. Others are trying to evaluate a breaking headline about a disease outbreak, a newly approved medicine, or a viral health trend.
For decades, reliable health knowledge was locked away in specialized scientific journals, written in technical terminology that ordinary readers could not decipher. Meanwhile, the rapid rise of social media created an environment where unverified health claims and panic-driven stories could travel around the world in minutes. People were left with an unacceptable choice: struggle through dense academic papers, or rely on simplified summaries that lacked scientific rigour.
Flobstar was created to dismantle that divide.
The concept was born from firsthand observation in science and health journalism. While studying biochemistry and reporting on medical developments, our founder, Oluwatimilehin Ayodeji John, witnessed how often critical public health information failed to reach the communities that needed it most. Scientific papers were treated as announcements rather than practical knowledge, and public health guidance was frequently lost in bureaucratic language.
Flobstar began with a clear premise: health literacy is a fundamental public good. Understanding disease prevention, clinical treatments, and medical science should never depend on whether someone holds a university degree.
From an initial reporting initiative, Flobstar has grown into a structured digital newsroom covering international health policy, clinical trials, regional healthcare systems, and pharmaceutical science. Our story is built on every fact verified, every complex study untangled, and every health development explained with fairness and care.
Meet the Founder

Oluwatimilehin Ayodeji John
Oluwatimilehin Ayodeji John is a health journalist, biochemistry student and technology enthusiast with a strong interest in medical science, public health and science communication. His work is driven by a desire to make complex health and scientific information more accessible, understandable and useful to the public.
He founded Flobstar out of a belief that access to accurate health information should not be limited by scientific complexity, geographical location or the way medical news is traditionally communicated. Recognising the need for clearer, more accessible and responsible health reporting, he established Flobstar as an independent digital health newsroom and public health communication platform.
His vision is to build a trusted health media organisation that connects scientific developments with the people they affect, promotes public understanding of medical research and contributes to more informed health decisions. Through Flobstar, he hopes to strengthen the relationship between science, journalism and society while making credible health information accessible to a wider global audience.
He is committed to evidence-based journalism, editorial independence, transparency and responsible health communication. He believes that health reporting carries a responsibility beyond delivering headlines: it must inform accurately, provide context, challenge misinformation and recognise the human lives behind every health story.
Our Mission
Our mission is to make evidence-based health news and medical knowledge understandable, accessible, and actionable for everyone.
We carry out this mission across our daily reporting through four specific editorial responsibilities:
1. Translating Complex Science Without Compromising Evidence
We deconstruct peer-reviewed studies, clinical trials, and epidemiological models into direct, natural prose. We explain what the research tested, who participated, what was discovered, and what limitations remain, without exaggerating preliminary findings into miraculous claims.
2. Countering Health Misinformation in Real Time
During public health emergencies and disease outbreaks, fear spreads faster than biology. We provide calm, fact-checked reporting that addresses viral rumours directly, referencing primary health datasets and reputable regulatory authorities.
3. Holding Health Systems and Commercial Interests Accountable
Medicine is not only a biological science; it is an industry and a matter of policy. We investigate drug pricing, clinical trial disclosures, hospital access, and regulatory decisions to ensure that public wellbeing remains the primary priority.
4. Protecting Public Health Agency
Information is valuable only when it helps people make sound decisions. Our reporting provides the context readers need to ask informed questions during medical consultations, understand health policies in their communities, and safeguard their families.
Our Vision
Flobstar envisions a world where every person, regardless of geographic location or economic circumstance, has immediate access to verified, life-preserving health information.
Our long-term objective is to build the foremost health media and medical intelligence organization in the Global South, bridging the historic gap in international health reporting between Western institutions and African health realities. While global health coverage frequently overlooks regional infrastructure, local disease burdens, and community interventions across Africa, Flobstar is committed to placing these vital stories at the centre of international health discourse.
As part of this vision, we are developing MedSense, an editorial intelligence platform engineered to assist our newsroom in monitoring global disease signals, cross-referencing peer-reviewed preprints, and accelerating factual verification. We view technology as an instrument to sharpen human editorial judgment, never as a substitute for rigorous journalistic inquiry.
We measure our future not by the volume of content we produce, but by the measurable public trust we cultivate and the clarity we bring to modern medicine.
Our Values
Our reporting is governed by a strict newsroom code designed to protect editorial independence and factual accuracy.
Evidence Hierarchy
We evaluate claims according to established scientific weight. Randomized controlled trials, systematic reviews, and official public health registries carry precedence over preliminary animal studies or corporate press announcements. We clearly identify early-stage research so readers understand its developmental status.
Distinction Between Association and Causation
We never report an observed statistical link as a proven cause. If an observational study identifies a correlation, our reporting explicitly describes it as an association, preserving scientific nuance.
Commercial and Institutional Independence
Our editorial evaluations are independent of commercial influence. Commercial sponsors and advertising partners have no authority over our news agenda, story selection, or editorial conclusions. Sponsored content, when published, is clearly demarcated from editorial journalism.
Transparent Attribution and Corrections
Every statistic, clinical claim, and institutional finding is attributed directly to its original source. When an error occurs, we correct it promptly and visibly, stating what was amended and why.
Protection of Patient Dignity
We do not sensationalize human suffering, exploit vulnerable patients for emotional impact, or publish clinical imagery without ethical justification and informed consent.

How We Work
Every story published across Flobstar passes through a rigorous five-step verification lifecycle before reaching our readers:
1. Primary Source Verification
We do not republish secondary claims without reviewing the underlying evidence. Our reporters examine original clinical study manuscripts, regulatory filings, statistical datasets, or institutional briefings.
2. Evidentiary Scrutiny
We examine the methodology behind the findings. We check sample sizes, study duration, control groups, potential conflicts of interest, and study funding sources.
3. Plain-Language Reconstruction
Rather than mirroring academic paper abstracts or corporate press releases, our writers reconstruct the findings into clear narrative journalism that answers what happened, why it matters, and who is affected.
4. Editorial and Fact Checking
Editors review the draft for factual precision, ensuring numbers, names, and geographic parameters match the primary records exactly. No speculative assumptions or unsupported superlatives are permitted.
5. Continuous Context and Updating
Science evolves. When followup trials report new outcomes or health authorities update clinical guidelines, our newsroom updates previous reporting with appropriate context and timestamps.
Our Commitment
To every reader who visits Flobstar, we make three lasting pledges:
Unrestricted Access to Essential Health Alerts
We believe life-preserving public health notices, epidemic advisories, and emergency health guidance should never be placed behind financial paywalls. When a health event affects community wellbeing, our reporting remains freely accessible to all.
A Rejection of Fear-Driven Journalism
We will never use clickbait headlines, frightening imagery, or exaggerated risks to manipulate readership attention. We respect your peace of mind as much as your need to know.
Journalism Grounded in Human Value
Medical statistics can easily obscure the individuals experiencing illness, treatment, and recovery. In every investigation we conduct and every discovery we report, we remember that public health is not merely an academic discipline. It touches families, communities, and real lives.
Because above all else, Behind Every Headline is a Life.
